The Truth About Bottled Water

Great article on Yahoo! exposing some of the truths about bottled water. I've never seen the point in paying for something that comes right out of your faucet. It's amazing how mankind has survived millions of years without it (and Purell - but that's another rant), yet now bottled water is supposed to be safe and/or good for you. I drank from the hose when I was a kid!

Yup! Agreed--bottled water IS a scam! Bottled water companies pay a lot of money to convince people that their product is safer and healthier, when actually it's often the same thing, and is almost completely unregulated! And that's letting alone the environmental and socioeconomic costs that society pays for the convience of being able to have water in disposable containers anytime, anywhere.
Here at Food & Water Watch we have a campaign called Take Back the Tap that works to help people make the switch from bottled water back to the tap--for all these reasons and more! Please come check it out: http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/water/bottled/. Thanks!

I recently drank from the hose when I was locked out after a softball game and it was so metallic tasting that I am sure it was poisonous. I had to spit it out immediately..previously though, I have had no trouble with hose water. In Ireland I once drank out of an old faucet meant for sheep out of sheer thirst.
